What we do

The Queensland Jazz Archive is a not-for-profit organisation set up to preserve Queensland jazz heritage.

  • We collect physical jazz memorabilia (such as photos, books, newspaper articles, recordings such as CDs, cassettes, tapes, LPs, EPs singles, 78s, videocassettes, etc.).
  • We help you to get this memorabilia digitised and uploaded to the web where it can be easily discovered.
  • We also have a professional working relationship with the State Library of Queensland for specialist archival storage and online catalogue access.
  • We provide links to individual Queensland jazz artists and their work.
  • We can also assist in creating websites for Queensland jazz artists when required.

The Queensland Jazz Archive has set up individual website stubs and links for the dissemination of information about Queensland jazz identities. The list (below) is in its infancy and will grow substantially as we acquire more information about Queensland jazz artists.

If you have anything or anyone to add to this list, or if you have anything of historical value and interest (recordings, photographs, press clippings, articles, videos. ... ) about a prominent Queensland jazz identity, band or event, please email us at qja@live.com.au or phone 0400 743 128 and we'll get back to you.
